Well we have been pretty busy over the past few days. Lauren spent the night with my sister Friday night so I could try to get some rest which of course didn't work for me. I think I slept less than when she keeps me up all night. We spent the weekend at my sisters trying to help her get get things unpacked and put together since she moved the same times as my parents did a week ago. She of course tolerated her chemo very well and is maybe a little better than she was last week but is not over whatever she has by any means. She is still on 2 antibiotics and has now started taking Zyrtec along with her breathing treatments. Her biggest thing right now is trying to decide which princess dress she wants to wear Saturday!! That is a very important decision for a girl to make!
As for Saturday (August 30) the benefit will be held at The American Legion Hall (401 Reading Rd. Mason, Ohio 45040). If you didn't recieve the e-mail this is dinner with a princess! Everyone is invited to dress-up (princess, prince, knight etc.) We are having spagetti and pizza (thanks to Larosa's) The cost is $20 for single or $30 for couple/family. It looks like there are a lot of great items for the silent auction and raffle. As I have told a few people I thought the benefit was to start at 6 but I was wrong. (imagine that!) The event is set to start at 5 and lasting till 9. They will also have some activities for kids to keep them busy and help them have a little extra fun. We of course will have the candle lady set up (thanks julie and Tina) with candles, lotion bars, bracelets, zipper-pulls, keychains and magnets. Anyway, it should be a lot of fun and we hope to see you all there!
Well I had to take Lauren to the er yesterday. She had a hard time during the night, she was coughing and then it seemed as though she was begining to choke. We spent quite a few hours down there and she had another chest x-ray that still looked good. She recieved a breathing treatment and we now have a nebulizer at home so I can keep up with things here. She had a good day today, and was able to get her treatment! She of course handled it very well. Her blood pressure was a little higher a few times than it has been through treatment but not high enough to worry about. Her oncologist and nurse practioner both said that they thought even given how sick she has been she looked better to them than she did two weeks ago. That is always a good thing to hear! She will be on antibiotics for another week, but her last dose of steroids will be tomorrow.
Just a reminder if you did not receive an email about the next benefit it will be on Saturday, August 30 at the American Legion Hall in Mason, Ohio. There will be Larosa's pizza and spagetti along with auction/raffle items. I will put all of the information on the benefits page, hope to see you all there!
Well I have to say that she is feeling a little better. Her strength is definately not back yet and she is coughing quite a bit but is much better than what she was. I am going to try to go to work tomorrow and we will see how she does. I should find out tomorrow if her blood work looks good and make sure that there is no protein in her urine so that she can receive her chemo Thursday. We decreased her dose of steroids today!! With any luck she will be able to take the final dose Friday without any complications. I will be sure to let you all know how things go Thursday.
