This is Lauren Bells, a three year old who has just been diagnosed with a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). This is an aggressive brain stem tumor which commonly affects children ages 5- 10 years old. It is estimated that there are less than 100 cases per year in the U.S.
The statistics are dire:
These however are the cancer's statistics, not Lauren's! Lauren may only be three years old, but she is a FIGHTER. Children diagnosed with DIPG are young and innocent. They go to kindergarten, first grade or are just learning their ABC's. They are your granddaughters, grandsons, nieces, nephews- even your sons and daughters. There is no rhyme or reason as to who gets DIPG and there is no warning.
Lauren and her family need your help. Please join them and be a part of Lauren's miracle! They need your good wishes, prayers and financial support. Please read their blog, sign their guest book and if possible, donate to the "Lauren Bells Account" available at any U.S. Bank Branch or Fifth Third Bank. Any money collected will help to pay for experimental treatment that could slow or even stop Lauren's tumor from growing.
Thank you for all of your support!
